Match Reports

 St Martins 4 – 0 Luton Borough   4th Oct 08

We started the game well with Charlie Moss being the first to have a go at goal. Boro were passing the ball around well with good link ups between Lewis Hardwick, Craig Read and Jamie Cummins. We had a couple more chances at goal, with a great clearance from Lewis Hardwick we were denied another goal when Craig Read hit the post.  Half time 0-0.

Following an excellent save by Ebraima Jeng and a couple of good runs and shots at goal by Thomas Kavanagh and Charlie Moss things started to go downhill for Boro when St Martins scored 15 minutes into the second half.  With 3 more goals from St Martins Boro found themselves 4 – 0 down at full time.

Manager’s comments:  We only had 7 players today, you all played well in the first half but the second half was disappointing, we were not tackling, we just didn’t seem to get it together.

Man of the match went to Lewis Hardwick who played well and out of position today, some great tackles!  Well done Lewis!

Luton Borough Blues 1- 2 Brache Sparta Trojans

27th Sept 2008

The game got off to a slow start, 10 minutes into the game Brache Sparta were the first to try and open the scoring with a great shot at goal.  Boro had a couple of good runs first with Thomas Kavanagh passing to Craig Read who set the ball up for Jamie Cummins to have a shot, followed by Edward knocking the ball onto Charlie Moss who passed to Jamie Cummins who had another great shot at goal. Following 2 excellent saves from Ebraima Jeng, Brache Sparta scored making it 1-0.

Boro came back with a great run from Lewis Hardwick who fed the ball through to Jamie Cummins who equalised with a great goal 1-1.  Craig Read replaced injured Ebraima Jeng in goal making an excellent save keeping the score 1-1 at half time.

With Ebraima Jeng back in goal and Thomas Kavanagh working very hard in defence it looked like this was going to be the final score but Brache Sparta pulled one back making the final score 2-1.

Managers comments:  It was a tough match today but you all battled well.  Well done boys!

Man of the match went to Thomas Kavanagh for his great work in defence, well done Thomas!

Luton Borough Blues 7-0 Eaton Bray

20th Sept 08

Looking very smart in their new kit Luton Borough were on the attack from the start.  Just 4 minutes into the game Boro went ahead 1 – 0 courtesy of Charlie Moss.  With a great shot a minute later Lewis Hardwick hit the post, then Lewis scored making it 2-0 Boro.  With Boro on the attack again Lewis Hardwick passed the ball into the box and Jamie Cummins made it 3-0.  Eaton Bray battled hard but with boro having most of the possession it wasn’t long before Charlie Moss scored his 2nd goal to make it 4-0.  With some good passes from the team Thomas Kavanagh in defence passed a great ball to Lewis Hardwick who then knocked it on to Jamie Cummins who scored a great goal 5-0 at half time.

In the second half we kept the Eaton Bray goalie busy with several of our players having a shot at goal, with some great strikes from Craig Read and Callum Brady.  Thomas Kavanagh made an excellent run down the right hand side and passed the ball into the box where Jamie Cummins was waiting to put it in the top corner of the net to make it 6-0.  A minute later Jamie found himself celebrating his 4th goal making the final score 7-0.

Manager’s comments:  An excellent performance from the whole team with lots of passing and tackling! You all worked very hard today, well done boys keep it up!

Man of the match went to Jamie Cummins, 4 goals today.  Well done Jamie!

Thanks to all those who turned up and took part or even just turned up and enjoyed themselves. The day was a great success for the club. From the teams point of view, it obviously depended on how many from our team took part. Please ask Ian for details
